The big school dance was coming up, and everyone was excited. Christina rushed over to Jessica who was sitting at her desk. The bell had just rung, and they were about ready to leave.
"Hey Jess, are you gonna go? To the dance, I mean."
"I doubt it."
"Well, what if we go together?"
She sighed. "For you. If you want to go, I suppose Ill go for you."
Christina and Jessica were going to go together. No boy in the school would ever ask them out, and they didnt want to miss it. At least Christina didnt want to miss it. It was the biggest dance of the year- no student would be crazy enough not to go.
On the day of the dance, Christina took her time getting ready. She put her hair up, applied make up, and selected a pink shirt and khaki pants to wear. It was November, so she couldnt go in a dress.
"Mom, can we go pick up a friend?"
Christinas mother walked into the living room, looking through her purse. "Sure dear. If you have directions."
Christina and her mom went and picked up Jessica, then went to the party. Inside, Christina saw Lisa, the girl Christina had met a few days before, and ran over to her. Jessica followed her calmly.
"Lisa?"
"Yeah, hey, youre Christina, right?" Lisa smiled kindly.
"Uh-huh. I didnt know you were coming. Do you go to a private school?"
"No, but my friend Raye got me a flyer, so here I am." She waved her hand around the hall. Tons of teens, lots of food, and music to dance the night away.
The DJ stopped playing music in the middle of the dance. Kids began to boo. The boos turned to screams. Jessica stood coolly, and Christina looked around with fear. People near the turntables began to fall down. They were passing out. The collapses fell like a domino effect.
Eventually, Christina saw it. On the stage, a woman stood. Not a normal woman, but one with blue skin, fangs, strange apparel, and antennas. She had her hands held out, one firing an odd gas over the crowd and the other holding a glass ball.
Jessica fell to the floor first, then Christina. She struggled to keep awake, and barely managed. A few others were awake also. They tried to see what was happening.
A bright beam flashed out from near a wall. The creature cried out and withdrew one arm. The fog ceased.
"What do you want, girl? Who are you?"
There, by the wall, was a teenage girl dressed in a sailor outfit. She smiled. "Thats my cue."
Stepping out from the shadows, she spoke to the woman, "I am Sailor Galaxy, champion of peace! On behalf of the Galaxy-"
Another Sailor-dressed girl near her interjected, "Sailor Mars! On behalf of Mars,"
Sailor Galaxy continued, "we will defend whats right and triumph over any chaos! That would be you!" Sailor Galaxy pointed at the woman.
She snarled. "Petrifina! Take this!" A grayish blast shot out of her antennas at the girls. It hit Sailor Mars.
"Ha! Now you will become solid, like a statue! Theres no escape, hand over your energy!" The fog shot at Galaxy.
In spite of it, she cried, "I call the powers of our GalaxyLaser, Flash!" The same bright beam seen before hit Sailor Mars fossilizing arm and turned it back.
"Thanks Galaxy. Now lets toast this freak. Mars Firebird Strike!" A bird of fire formed from her arms, and hit Petrifina, knocking her back.
Again, the fog seceded. Sailor Galaxy aimed a scepter at her while she was down. "Galaxy Scepter Blast!" A large yellow beam flew at Petrifina. She cried out, and with a flash, turned into dust that vanished. The crystal ball broke and released energy. A General from the Negaverse stood, looking evil as ever.
"Sailor Scouts, so you beat my Petrifina, but you have not beaten me!"
Galaxy looked up at him, annoyed. "We will, Ledite! You wait!" Just as soon as Ledite disappeared, so did Galaxy and Mars.
Jessica looked to Christina, now awake. "Who were they?"
"I dont know, but I have the strange feeling that Ive seen them before"
